The ziplines start low and slow and gradually build your confidence as they get progressively longer, higher and faster. This tour is fun for everyone.
This tour starts and finishes at the top of the Skyline gondola building with a short 10min uphill walk after the last zipline.

- The tour ends back at the Ziptrek treehouse

FAQs
Can I watch the tour?
- Guests will have the ability to accompany their friends and family to the Ziptrek Guest Services Tree-house. Once guests have checked in, there will not be an option for spectators to view the tour
Can I bring a backpack?
- You will not be able to bring a backpack or any other baggage on tour with you. You will be wearing a full body harness and backpacks will interfere with this harness. We recommend you leave your personal belongings at your hotel or at our camp street booking office in town. A small item storage however is available at the Tree-house
Can I bring a camera?
- Yes, if you have a camera or small video recording device you can bring it with you. We recommend they have a wrist or neck strap so that you can attach it to yourself when zipping
Can I go on Ziptrek if I am pregnant?
- Pregnant guests may not participate in Ziptrek tours for their own safety and the safety of their unborn child
Is commentary available in languages other than English?
- Chinese and Spanish translations are available. It's as easy downloading an app and plugging in your earphones. Complimentary disposable earphones are available
What To Bring
- Participants should dress for the weather (it is a few degrees cooler up in the mountain than in town and in the shade of the tree canopy). Queenstown is an alpine environment, please bring extra layers.
- Comfortable clothing and hiking boots or good athletic footwear is recommended. Closed toe shoes are required to participate on Ziptrek due to health & safety regulations.
- Bags, purses and backpacks are not allowed on the tour for safety reasons. Guests should be informed to leave these items behind them where possible, or they can drop them into our central Queenstown booking office at 45 Camp Street, Queenstown. Whilst we do provide storage for a few items up on the course, which can be returned at the end of the Tour, this is limited to the Moa and Kereru tours only.
- Cameras are encouraged, at own risk, providing they fit into a zippered pocket. Any loose items must be zipped into pockets prior to riding the zipline. Long hair should be held back with a hair tie or an elastic band.
- We provide wet weather gear when appropriate and hats and gloves (in winter) which can be borrowed at the start of the tour.

- Tours include light stair climbing and trail walking. Guests must be able to walk unassisted
- Ziptrek's Guest Services Tree-house is situated just past the Helipad, 100 metres to the left of the Skyline Gondola Upper Terminal, at the edge of the treelike
- Tiki Walking Trail (approx 1 hour)
- Heli-pad located 40m from guest services treehouse at the top of the Skyline Gondola
- Please note vehicle access is for emergency use only
- During periods of heightened fire risk we have introduced additional safety measures to manage safe access for our tours. These control measures may impact guest bookings due to limiting tour options and numbers on tour.
- To re-upload the Skyline gondola after a Kew Tour we can give the guests a stamp permitting complimentary re-upload on the same day.
Participant Consent Form:
Every guest who participates on a tour is required to read and sign our Participation Consent Form. This can be completed by guests beforehand via this link - www.ziptrek.co.nz/waiver - or alternatively can be completed at check-in at our Ziptrek Treehouse. For guests ages 17 years and under, the form must be signed by a parent or guardian. Guests aged 15 - 17 years inclusive may participate on tour without a parent or guardian, but they MUST have the Participant Consent Form completed on their behalf by someone aged 18+.
Terms And Conditions
- All rates are quoted per person in New Zealand Dollars and include GST of 15%
- For groups of 8 or more people please reach out to latherton@ziptrek.com for group rates. FIT contracted NETT rates may not apply to all groups
- The Retail Rate is the required advertised public rate
- The Skyline Gondola ticket is additional and can be purchased at the Gondola base building. We recommend a minimum of 30 minutes to access the upper Skyline complex from the base terminal, or at least 45 minutes in peak times
- Ziptrek has a minimum age of 6 years for all tours
- Our minimum weight limit for is 20kg (44lbs) on the Kereru Tour, and 30kg (66lbs) for the Kea Tour. There is no minimum weight limit for the Moa Tour, although we can offer two tandems per tour on the for guests under 25kg (55lbs)
- Our maximum weight limit for all tours is 125kgs (275lbs)
- Please note that all guests aged 14 and under must be accompanied by a full paying adult (15+) on tour
- Guests aged between 15-17 years inclusive may participate without a parent, but a parent/guardian must complete the Participation Consent Form on their behalf
- It is not recommended that people with heart, cardiovascular or respiratory illness take part on a Ziptrek Ecotours
- Pregnant women are not permitted on Ziptrek Ecotours
- Guests should be informed that the tour includes some stair climbing and hiking and to be prepared for light physical exertion
- No smoking, drugs or alcohol are permitted on the tour at any time
- Ziptrek Ecotours is in no way obligated to complete a tour if one or more participants are found to be endangering themselves, others or the
environment. Refunds will not be given to those individuals in these situations
Cancellation Policy
Cancel at least: 24 hours prior to the date of travel to avoid any cancellation fees
Cancellations within 24 hours of tour departure time will be charged at the full NETT rate. No-shows will also be charged at the full NETT rate. Ziptrek Ecotours operate in all weather conditions, but we reserve the right to cancel tours due to inclement weather, foreseeable hazards, insufficient bookings or events beyond our control. In these events, full refunds will be made or alternative dates offered. Please note that sometimes a rescheduling fee of $50 per adult or $25 per youth/senior may be charged in the event of rescheduling clients within 24
hours if the fault lies purely with the guest.
Please note that the standard cancellation does not apply for group bookings (10+ guests). Cancel at least 72 hours prior to the date of travel to avoid any cancellation fees. Cancellations for groups within 72 hours of tour departure time will be charged at the full NETT rate.
